It was the product of a miracle—a cypress swamp was transformed into an enchanting garden. It originated 70 year ago when Dick Pope started laying out a garden on the swamp.
A 70 year old banyan tree stands watch over the entire 35 acre garden. A cascading waterfall and other water features enliven its beauty. The garden presents a riot of colors in a sea of emerald.
As you meander through the park you will be greeted by exotic plants and flowers in every corner. As if the clock has turned back you may find costumed “southern belles” strolling through the garden—a la “Gone With The Wind”.
Cypress Gardens presents a hodgepodge of entertainment from exotic water- skiing to dancing and singing. The Botanic Gardens can be visited by land or water as boats traverse the canals laden with blooming flowers and plant life.
