Two Orlando airports

Newcomers to Orlando may be surprised to find that there are two Orlando airports – the primary airport being Orlando International Airport, and the secondary airport being Orlando Sanford International Airport. Orlando International Airport is deemed the busiest of the Florida area airports based on the number of passengers served. Perhaps that is why two Orlando airports are necessary – to allow the heavy numbers of tourists lured to Orlando attractions to be served properly. Orlando Sanford International Airport differs from the other Orlando airport in that majority of the airlines that use it are British airlines. It is also under management of the TBI plc company, a UK-based airport operator which is responsible for running airports throughout the world that it owns (like Belfast International Airport.)

Key Orlando attractions

Tourism helps drive up demand for the aviation services of Orlando International Airport every year. Some key Orlando attractions that bring in tourists all the time are the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, and the SeaWorld facility of Orlando. The other industries in Orlando also benefit from the tourism business brought in by such key Orlando attractions – industries such as the hotel and lodgings business, the conference and convention hosting business, the real estate development business (with emphasis on development of commercial and residential buildings), and golf course management. Without these key Orlando attractions to foster tourism and trade, it is unlikely that the Orlando International Airport, the other related businesses, and downtown Orlando, would have prospered by as much as they have lately.
