Mennello Museum of American Folk Art is a tribute to the work of a single but brilliant artist Earl Cunningham. His birth has been labeled “Primitive Genius”.
Cunningham who lived in St. Augustine attempted to capture landscapes of startling beauty in the Sunshine State. Under his dexterous brush the breathtakingly beautiful landscapes seem to shimmer with life.
The Mennello Museum of American Folk Art endeavors to preserve, exhibit, and interpret the museum's outstanding permanent collection of paintings by Earl Cunningham. The Museum also seeks to enrich the public through special exhibitions, publications, and programs that celebrate other outstanding traditional and contemporary American folk artists.
The museum is housed in an Orlando mansion which was once a private residence overlooking Lake Formosa.
